Summer 2013

HULA is a table that responds to your touch - swaying under the weight of objects placed on its glass face, dancing when brushed or bumped by humans in a hurry. The HULA table reminds its humans to slow down, pay attention, and be aware of our affect on each thing we touch; remember that everything we touch, touches us back.

The glass surface is held in a wooden frame, supported by carbon fiber rods that connect the tabletop with another wooden frame at the base. This inner construction is dressed in a soft, gray felt that self-adjusts & bunches with its movement leaving a hollow interior , VIEW-ABLE, without obstruction, through the translucent glass tabletop.
